Our colleague Katrin Burgstaller spoke about the Servare project in the session ‘Legal framework for regional innovations and regulatory sandboxes’ at the Mission Innovation Austria Week 2024 (MIA2024) in sunny, autumnal Burgenland. The legal framework for the long-term storage of energy (with a focus on H2) was highlighted. The project’s recommendations and the opportunities and challenges of storage in the guarantee of origin system were discussed in detail.
The follow-up project SeasonalStorage4EG was also presented, which aims to enable the use of summer sun for winter electricity in energy communities by integrating long-term storage systems.
