CEE delegation in Brussels

From 19 – 21 November, the Belgian embassies in the CEE countries organised a networking meeting that brought together representatives from research with Flemish research and technology institutions. Our colleague Johannes Reichl was proud to be part of this delegation as a representative from Austria.

Highlights:
– Visit to the EnergyVille energy research park in Genk, where over 250 researchers are working on technologies for the energy transition on the site of a disused coal mine.
– Exchange with colleagues at the Green Energy Park in Brussels, who are developing technologies for integrating volatile renewable energies into existing electricity systems, among other things.

Both research initiatives have objectives and priorities that complement those of the Energieinstitut an der JKU Linz and the Future Energy Lab. The Energieinstitut focuses on the (macro)economic, regulatory and legal framework conditions for the efficient implementation of these technologies.

An inspiring meeting that showed how important cross-border cooperation is for the energy transition!
