In the 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗸𝘁 𝗘𝗟𝗘𝗩𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗖𝗘𝗘, we analyze national hydrogen strategies and framework conditions in Austria, Slovakia and Hungary to identify best practices as well as existing challenges and barriers. The goal is to lay the groundwork for the development of a cross-border Hydrogen Valley in the CEE region.

As part of the 𝗘𝗟𝗘𝗩𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗰𝗲𝗲 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿 #1 on February On March 28, 2028, the Energieinstitut an der JKU Linz – together with its project partners from Slovakia and Hungary – successfully held the 𝗕𝗲𝘀𝘁-𝗣𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽 #𝟏.
Key players from government agencies, energy companies, and other relevant stakeholders came together. The workshop provided an open forum for exchange and co-creation across six thematic areas—policy, law, technology, social issues, ecology, and economics—of the hydrogen value chains. The status quo of the participating countries was jointly analyzed and reflected upon.
A big thank you goes out to all participants for their constructive feedback, which opened up new perspectives and helped further refine the results.
We look forward to continuing this work in the second workshop—more information will follow shortly. Stay tuned!
