Energy cooperation as the key to sustainable growth – international delegation in Upper Austria

The INKOBA Sterngartl business park showcased itself as a best practice example of energy cooperation within industrial parks. It showed that, as well as enabling cost savings and security of supply, energy cooperation promotes sustainability and innovation through the shared use of resources.

Joint energy solutions, such as shared heat supplies, photovoltaic systems, shared energy storage facilities and participation in energy communities, demonstrate the significant potential of inter-municipal cooperation in the energy sector. A delegation from Catalonia, France, Belgium, Italy and the Czech Republic visited the site to learn about the current and planned partnerships between companies in the park that are proving successful.

The INKOBA Sterngartl business park highlights the importance of regional innovation initiatives in the energy sector. The international visit, which focused on energy cooperation and industrial symbiosis, was organised by the Energieinstitut an der JKU Linz as part of the European project ENERGIZE Industrial Energy Communities.
