EnInnov 2026

The Energieinstitut an der JKU Linz was represented at the EnInnov 2026 conference by a delegation of six colleagues. The event was organized by the Institute of Electricity Economics and Energy Innovation at TU Graz.

With more than 250 presentations and over 650 participants, the conference provided an excellent platform for our researchers to present new insights into the future of sustainable energy systems:

🔹 Simon Moser demonstrated approaches for enabling interregional connections between district heating networks.
🔹 Katharina Rusch presented results on the economic assessment of integrating thermal storage systems into district heating networks.
🔹 Helene Mihatsch shared insights from a life cycle assessment of a Tank Thermal Energy Storage (TTES) system.
🔹 Katrin Burgstaller outlined the legal framework conditions for urban prosumers.
🔹 Magdalena Pflügl presented findings from an international survey on the decarbonisation of district heating peak loads.
🔹 Gregor Riha presented results on sector coupling through a novel electrolysis process enabling renewable hydrogen peroxide production.

The contributions of our colleagues reflected the multidisciplinary nature of the conference and highlighted the importance of scientific dialogue and international collaboration for advancing the energy transition.

Many thanks to the organizers for hosting such a successful event!
