Following the successful project “๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ ๐๐ถ๐ด๐ต๐๐ฎ๐”, the Energieinstitut an der JKU Linz is also coordinating the follow-up project “๐๐๐๐๐ฟ๐ฒ ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ ๐๐ถ๐ด๐ต๐๐ฎ๐” – with the clear aim of making tomorrow’s heat supply more sustainable, efficient and regional. A press conference was held today at the Oร. Press Club with Markus Achleitner, Upper Austrias provincial councillor for Economic Affairs and Energy, Robert Tichler, Managing Director of the Energieinstitut, Josef Siligan, Board Director of Linz AG and Leonhard Werner, Site Manager of LAT Nitrogen Linz.
The new research project is driving forward the development of a forward-looking district heating system:
- Conception of a sustainable heating system
- Diversification of the heat supply
- Systematic integration of industrial waste heat (existing and future) into supra-regional heating networks
- Expansion and development of focus areas
What are the benefits of the project?
- COโ reduction: Utilisation of existing (previously unused) and future waste heat and reduction of energy imports
- Resource efficiency: optimisation and flexibilisation of the heating network
- Economy: Creating new added value in regions, securing industrial locations and maintaining jobs
- Society: Sustainable heat for households and stable energy prices, long-term independence from supply
A strong consortium with 28 partners shows how innovation, climate protection and regional value creation can go hand in hand. We look forward to working together!
The project is subsidised by the Climate and Energy Fund and the province of Upper Austria.
