Our team members Andrea Kollmann and Benjamin Kirchler have just returned from the DIALOGUES project’s General Assembly on the picturesque island of Naxos, where the consortium reflected on our concentrated focus on Eenergy Citizenship and its important role in facilitating a just and equitable energy transition. The meeting led to engaging discussions on the outcomes of nine Citizen Action Labs conducted in eight countries, with a focus on gender equality and diversity inclusion.
A highlight of our meeting was a visit to a local wind farm, which allowed us to speak first-hand with local communities. These conversations were very insightful and highlighted the challenges they face, especially the high energy demand during the summer season due to tourism. Together, we explored the important role that renewable energy sources can play in addressing these challenges, promoting sustainable development.
