Simon Moser has been working at the Energieinstitut since 2008 and is one of its Key Researchers. He studied economics with a focus on environmental and industrial economics and completed his doctorate in the field of energy policy. His research focuses on energy market design and cooperation between different actors in a transforming energy system.

His main research areas include district heating, industrial excess heat, process heat, industrial decarbonisation, regulation and industrial symbiosis. His work covers topics such as the integration of industrial excess heat into district heating systems and the development of supra-regional heat networks.
