Motivated by several ongoing projects, we organized the “Linz District Heating Forum” on March 17–18, 2026, at Johannes Kepler University Linz. The first edition focused on “Heat Highways”, large-scale heat storage, and industrial symbiosis for waste heat–to–district heating projects.
The Forum aimed to
- Transfer knowledge between applied research and district heating practice
- Foster networking among actors from specific fields of district heating
- Disseminate project results
- Connect key stakeholders
The idea of the Linz District Heating Forum was to join forces in order to gather a critical mass of experts for the exchange, dissemination and replication of project results and the projects’ innovative ideas.
In total, more than 120 experts from 13 European countries participated in the forum.
The presentations are available for download, together with additional pictures.
