How can load forecasts be optimised and load management made more efficient?
As part of the POWERCAST project, a stakeholder workshop on the topic of ‘Load forecasting, management and benchmarking’ was held on 10 October. The following questions were discussed together with stakeholders from the Austrian energy landscape:
- Which events lead to incorrect forecasts?
- Which benchmarks are currently used to assess load forecasts?
- Which tools and influencing variables are currently used in load forecasts?
- Which functionalities are crucial for future benchmarks and forecasting methods?
The POWERCAST project aims to increase the supply efficiency of electricity grids by developing AI-supported forecasting models. In addition, benchmarks are being developed to evaluate and continuously improve existing load forecasting models.
