Last week, our colleagues Gjin Muja and Robert Müllehner took part in the third consortium meeting of the TREASURE project in Stuttgart.
As part of the EU project, seasonal thermal energy storages (specifically pit thermal energy storages, or PTES for short) are being evaluated and further developed. This evaluation is being carried out as part of various demonstration projects with storage capacities of up to 500,000 m³.
A particular highlight was the visit to the site in Hechingen, a demonstrator of the project, where a pit for a PTES has already been excavated. Stadtwerke Hechingen and Solites presented the newly planned district and explained the future heat supply with a seasonal heat storage system.
We would like to thank everyone involved for an exciting and productive meeting and are already looking forward to the next one!
