Leafs assesses the impact of the increasing consumer and market driven deployment of distributed storage and load flexibility on distribution networks. Technologies and deployment strategies are developed to achieve optimal use of the distribution network through flexibility management, whether through activation of flexibility (storage or flexible loads), through direct or indirect control, through the local grid operator or through incentives. Grid customers benefit from a more flexible integration of distributed generation units with minimal grid costs and higher self-consumption in the case of own generation.
