LCM COMET

OMET K2 Center for Symbiotic Mechatronics

Project Description

The COMET K2 Competence Center “Symbiotic Mechatronics” is a research center operated by the Linz Center of Mechatronics. The center is funded by the Austrian federal government, the state of Upper Austria, the JKU and scientific partners. It is managed by the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG).

It is impossible to imagine today’s world without mechatronic systems. In the future, however, it will become increasingly important for these systems to interact with each other as well as with their physical, digital, human or climatic environment. With its novel concept of “Symbiotic Mechatronics”, the LCM has therefore added new challenges to classical mechatronics. (Source: https://www.lcm.at/forschung/)

The Energieinstitut supports the center as a scientific partner, especially with regard to ecological analyses and legal frameworks.
