Review: Energy Law Conference 2026 – Focus on the New ElWG

Fully booked, highly topical, and marked by expert knowledge: The Energy Law Conference 2026, organized by the Energy Institute at JKU Linz in cooperation with BEURLE Rechtsanwälte GmbH & Co KG at Johannes Kepler University Linz, was a resounding success.

With the new Electricity Act (ElWG), a fundamentally revised legal framework for the electricity sector is coming into force. The conference impressively demonstrated how crucial the structure of energy law is for achieving climate and energy policy goals. Especially in the context of dynamic legal developments and technological progress, a stable yet flexible legal framework is needed.
