Andreas Zauner is senior researcher and working since 2015 at the Energy Institute at the Johannes Kepler University in the department of Energy Technology. After graduation of the Technical College for automation technology, he worked for eight years as an engineer in a leading European system supplier for hydraulics. Afterwards he studied Eco Energy Technologies at the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria and wrote his Master’s thesis in the field of ancillary services, storage technologies and photovoltaic. Now the focus of his work is on the techno-economic assessment, cost benefit analysis, market analysis, development of business cases and benchmarking of current and emerging energy storage and conversion technologies and their integration in an energy system, which is based on renewable energy carriers.
