Lukas Zeilerbauer studied “Technical Chemistry” in the Bachelor’s programme at JKU Linz. After a short stay abroad in the United States, he completed the consecutive master’s programme “Management in Chemical Technologies”, also in Linz. He wrote his master’s thesis focusing on the chemical valorisation of lignin. Since April 2020, he has been working at the Energieinstitut as a research associate in the Energy Technology Department. His work’s main emphasis is the ecological assessment of novel process designs via life cycle assessment (LCA). His research interests in LCA are particularly pertaining, but not limited to, the production and recycling of plastics and biorefineries. Since 2022 he is working on his doctoral thesis with a focus on the sustainable management of polymers.
