Danube Indeet

Danube Indeet: Kick-off meeting in Ruhstorf an der Rott

From 5 to 6 March the kick-off meeting of the project Danube Indeet – Integrated and decentralised concept rethinking energy and transport systems based on renewable energy in the Danube region took place at the Technologiezentrum Energie (TZE) in Ruhstorf an der Rott! The Energy Institute at the JKU Linz was represented as a project partner by Darja Markova, Christoph Müller, Jovana Winkler and Magdalena Pflügl.

The aim of Danube Indeet is to promote the expansion and efficiency of the use of renewable energies in the Danube region by researching and disseminating effective sector coupling options such as hydrogen and vehicle-to-grid (V2G) applications.

During the project, the local infrastructures in the participating regions are analysed and existing approaches for the integration of renewable energies are examined. The data will be fed into a calculation model based on mathematical optimisation in order to achieve an optimal green infrastructure in terms of operation and economic efficiency. The model will be tested, validated and refined in six pilot regions using theoretical scenarios.

Our contribution to the project includes analysing the legal framework and investigating the acceptance of hydrogen applications and e-mobility.

Together with our partners Landshut University of Applied Sciences, Municipality Ruhstorf an der Rott, Citizens’ Association No Gravity, URBASOFIA, The Alba Iulia Association for Intercommunity Development, Regional Agency for Socio – Economic Development – Banat Ltd, Regional Development Agency of South Bohemia – RERA, LIR Evolution, we want to contribute to a greener, more energy-efficient Danube region through this project.

The project is financed by the European Regional Development Fund under the Danube Region Programme.
