First ETIP PV Social White Paper released!

The first ETIP PV Social White Paper has been released: Towards Sustainable and Massive Deployment of Photovoltaics: The Nexus of Socio-Economic and Technological Challenges. Rudolf Kapeller had the pleasure to contribute chapter 1.4 on „Acceptance of novel true-cost pricing grid tariff schemes“:

Electricity consumption is independent of the load situation in the grid and is hardly influenced by the current, local supply of electricity from renewable energy sources such as PV, causing inefficiencies and added costs. Introducing load-based tariffs comes with hurdles, such as potential redistribution of costs, which can hinder public acceptance, but true-cost pricing grid tariffs can help match consumption to local supply. More details on this, and a deep dive in the social-economic dimension of the EU PV deployment can be found in the latest white paper: https://etip-pv.eu/about/working-groups/social-pv/

European Technology & Innovation Platforms (ETIPs) have been created by the European Commission by bringing together EU countries, industry, and researchers in key areas. The focus of ETIP PV’s activities is on the opportunities and challenges facing the European photovoltaic sector. ETIP PV social PV working group is responsible for examining socio-economic challenges and opportunities of PV deployment.
