INNOnet project: Consortium meeting in Vienna

As part of the consortium meeting at the AIT Austrian Institute of Technology in Vienna, we had the opportunity to discuss open questions and further steps for the INNOnet project.

In INNOnet, load-variable grid tariffs are being designed and tested in real operation with more than 1000 households in 3 demonstration areas in Austria (Netz Oberösterreich, Linz Netz, Energienetze Steiermark). This will enable us to determine the flexibility potential that can be activated by customers and investigate future tariff structures for distribution grid operators.

Our next steps in the project are
– Final decision on specific grid tariff structures based on the simulations
– Involvement of over 1000 demo households and a control group
– Regulatory application to the regulator E-Control to test the tariffs in real operation in the demos
– Final development of an app (and the underlying data platform) for communication with household customers
– Start of the demos in fall 2024

We are looking forward to the results!
