Michael Denk completed his diploma studies in law with a focus on “Public Administration” at Johannes Kepler University in 2018. During his studies, he worked as a student assistant at the Institute for Financial Law, Tax Law and Tax Policy. After graduating, he worked as a university assistant at the Institute for Administrative Law and Administrative Science, as well as a research associate at the LIT Law Lab at the Linz Institute of Technology (LIT) starting in 2019. During the pandemic, he gained valuable experience in sanitary law while serving in the COVID-19 crisis team of the Upper Austrian Government. After a research stay at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) in Mexico City, Michael Denk joined the Energy Institute’s Department of Energy Law as a Junior Researcher in September 2023. His previous research interests include, in particular, data protection law as well as legal issues related to Regulatory Sandboxes, Artificial Intelligence and Virtual Reality.
