The physical kick-off meeting of the VoLL/CONE/RS project took place in Ljubljana, Slovenia, on 7 November. Johannes Reichl and Katharina Rusch met on site with colleagues from the EU Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER) as well as Aaron Praktiknjo and Christina Kockel from RWTH Aachen University / E.ON Energy Research Centre.
At the meeting, the development of a methodology to assess the calculations of the Value of Lost Load, the Cost of New Entry and the Reliability Standard was discussed. The project analyses the first round of application of the methodology by the obligated member states and develops proposals on how they can further standardise and improve the calculation of the VoLL/CONE/RS values. In the long term, this will contribute to increasing energy security within the EU.
