The integration of energy sources is the key to ensure a cost-efficient integration of renewable energies. More than 30 power-to-gas pilot and test plants are currently being operated in several EU regions. Most of these are publicly supported, however no commercial regional power-to-gas projects have developed as yet. SuperP2G connects leading power-to-gas initiatives in five countries, enabling joint learning and the co-development of solutions. Each national project focuses on different challenges, with researchers teaming up with local owners to jointly develop a solution to a specific problem. SuperP2G focuses on improving existing tools including access as well as developing a new open tool based on OptiFlow and H2IndexII tools. This is supplemented by an analysis of regulations and markets as well as the involvement of stakeholders. The goal for the Austrian part of the SuperP2G project is to analyze the future need for renewable H2 and SNG for industry. This includes the aspect of cost development, based on existing tools such as CoLLeCT, PResTiGE and MOVE. In addition, the data on future demand and cost developments is prepared for use in the entire SuperP2G tool.
